Mentoring

Mentoring Mechanism
“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another”.
Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen and a push in the right direction. Mentoring is a strategy to provide students with emotional and physical support they need to achieve learning goals. The purpose of this mechanism is to focus and motivate students to achieve learning goals and thereby improve their academic and non-academic performance and thereby improving their life skills. Good quality mentoring in college renders valuable contribution to the development of skills amongst students.
This system in the college is initiated by appointment of Mentor for a group of 15-30 students. The mentor maintains a record of personal profiles of the students and interact with the mentees twice in a month. The mentor and class teacher hold parents meet and inform parents about mentoring needs and theoutcome of mentoring. The following chart highlights the mechanism, in Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal.
