Higher education institutions have a unique position in the current context of globalization. Changes are inevitable and necessary in the higher education system as per the changing times. The purpose of higher education is to inculcate the desire for self-improvement in students and to shape them towards perfection.
It is necessary to develop the students to become self-aware and open themselves to global competition through value-based education. A desire for excellence should be inculcated in the students along with the awareness of social, economic and cultural reality along with local and global knowledge.
Educational institutions should provide a platform for widening new visions along with broadening intellects.
The National Education Policy has given more importance to value-based education and skill-based education.
The process of identifying and bringing to light the unique talents of each student is the main concept of the new education policy and the main aim is to achieve comprehensive development in academic and educational sectors.
By converging the industrial and academic sectors, there is an opportunity to make the students gain vocational skills, and increase research interest and strength, thus knowledge acquisition work needs to be done in both sectors.
As our nation is moving towards a strong knowledge-based society and a strong economy, we need to move towards a creative and multi-disciplinary knowledge sector.
The students and the teaching staff are adopting the Kayaka culture for self-development, continuous learning and research should be a natural trend and the college is trying to provide all the opportunities.
In today’s student-centred education system, teacher and parent associations and the Alumni Associations of the College are cooperative bodies.
The management guides students and motivates them for overall development.
Govinda Dasa College has retained the ‘A’ grade with a CGPA score of 3.14 in the fourth cycle of academic evaluation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
I would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all the stakeholders of Govinda Dasa College i.e. the management,governing council,IQAC coordinators, Vice principal ,alumni,PTA Association,students for rendering untiring support. My sincere thanks to all HODs, criterion heads, and teaching and non-teaching staff for the tremendous efforts extended throughout the NAAC process.
We will continue with the spirit of inculcating ethics & ethos in young minds with aplomb and dedication even during this tough time.
